Jo knew Elena very well, they were very good friends and respected each other immensely. When we asked Jo to become an Elena Baltacha Foundation Ambassador, there was no hesitation, this was nearly 5 years ago. Jo played a leading role in our World’s Governing Body (WTA) film about Elena, sponsored by Moroccan Oil, ‘Inspired by Women’:

Johanna Konta is a British professional tennis player, she has won four singles titles on the WTA Tour, as well as 11 singles and four doubles titles on the ITF Women’s Circuit. The former British number one reached her best singles ranking of world No.4 on 17 July 2017. She has reached the semi-finals of the Australian Open, Wimbledon and the French Open.

Kelly Anna

Kelly Anna is a freelance artist and print designer who is fast making waves in the art and sport world with her bold & confident figurative works. Her work stands out thanks to its empowering messages — implicit in style, and explicit in the recognisably witty scrawlings. Whilst working in print design over the past 8 years in footwear and apparel, Kelly Anna has had some incredible names wear her prints, ranging from Beyonce, Cara Delevingne, Foals, London Grammar and more. Her work has been championed by the likes of Vogue, It’s Nice That, Risposte Magazine, Refinery29, Konbini, KK outlet and so many more. Since then, Kelly Anna has been working for a variety of renowned clients and collaborating with some pretty cool brands. Martyn Waghorn

Martyn Waghorn has been a devoted Ambassador to The Elena Baltacha Foundation over many years now, never missing an event, even if this means he needs to travel from his home town Derby to Ipswich, he has served the foundation on so many occasions, including visiting schools during the promotion of sport, to mentoring of our young athletes. An English professional footballer, Martyn plays as a forward for Championship club Coventry City. He is a former England under-21 international. Martyn had been with Sunderland since the age of eight and made his first-team debut for the club in December 2007, against Manchester United, at the age of 17. He joined Leicester City on a permanent deal in August 2010. In July 2015, he left England for the first time, joining Scottish club Rangers. He returned to English football in August 2017, when he joined Ipswich Town and later Derby County before signing for Coventry City in July 2021.

Anne Keothavong

Anne Keothavong has a very special place in Elena’s life, both Anne and Elena came up through the British ranks of tennis together, from young children to becoming fellow team members of the Great Britain Tennis team. They both competed together as members of Team GB at the London 2012 Olympics, also competing together as doubles partners during these Olympics on the hallowed courts of Wimbledon. During her career, Anne won a total of 28 titles on the ITF Women’s Circuit, and reached a career-high singles ranking of world No.48. She also reached the semi finals of six WTA International tournaments, and the semi finals of one Premier tournament. Anne was British No.1 at the year-end rankings five times, and in 2009 became the first British player to make the WTA top 50 since 1993. In April 2001, aged 17, she became the youngest player ever to play in the Fed Cup for Great Britain until Katie Swan in 2016. Also, she is second, alongside Elena Baltacha, to Virginia Wade’s record for most Fed Cup ties played for Great Britain with 39. Anne announced her retirement on 24 July 2013. After that, she became a member of BT Sport’s tennis coverage team alongside Martina Navratilova and fellow British ex-no.1 Sam Smith. In 2017, Keothavong became Fed Cup captain for Great Britain, leading the team to win all four ties played in the Europe/Africa Zone Group I. She continued as captain for the 2018 and 2019 Fed Cup, winning promotion in April 2019 to World Group II for the first time in 26 years.

Felipe Guimaraes

Felipe has worked in the industry for the last nine and a half years. The majority of the time at BBH, but he did a year and a half at RGA as an associate creative director on Beats by Dre, Google and Nike.

Along the way he has produced award winning work for clients such as Absolut, AXE, Weetabix, Adidas and Virgin Media.

His awards include four Cannes Lions, five D&AD Pencils, as well as Golds and Silvers at The British Arrows, Creative Circle and Campaign Big.

Alongside his advertising career Felipe is also a creative director for London fashion brand Clothsurgeon.

He has worked with designer Rav Matharu for the last three years designing, art directing, and styling the last six collections. Most notably, a collaboration with sportswear brand Champion, currently being stocked at Selfridges and END clothing.

Amy Wilson-Hardy

Amy has been a great supporter of The Elena Baltacha Foundation for a number years, attending and supporting our events, the last major event being ‘An Evening with Judy Murray’ held in Ipswich. Amy Wilson-Hardy is an English rugby union player. She made her debut for the England women’s national rugby union team in 2013. She was selected as a member of the Great Britain women’s national rugby sevens team to the 2016 Summer Olympics. She plays for Wasps in the Women’s Premiership and was selected for the 2017 Women’s Rugby World Cup squad. She won a bronze medal at the 2018 Commonwealth Games.
Amy Wilson Hardy

Drew Kemp

Drew has been an outstanding supporter of The Elena Baltacha Foundation from the very first day he joined us. Although his travelling competing schedule is extremely demanding. Drew always makes time to meet with Nino on a regular basis to discuss the many ways that Drew is committed to helping young athletes. Drew is a British speedway rider, he currently rides for Ipswich Witches in the SGB Premiership and Eastbourne Eagles in the SGB Championship. On 19th November 2019 he joined Eastbourne Eagles for their 2020 SGB Championship season. It was confirmed on 18 February 2020 that Drew would ride for his hometown club Ipswich Witches in the SGB Premiership. He was brought into the side after the tragic passing of his former Mildenhall Fen Tigers teammate Danny Ayres.
